Don't try this

I had my 4 month check up today at my ob/gyn. It was just a routine exam, urine test, listen for heartbeat, all the normal stuff. A friend told me that if you eat alot of sugar before the exam the baby will move around alot and they won't be able to find the heartbeat, resulting in an ultrasound. So I loaded up on sugar and headed to the dr. Well either my doctor is a superhero or that trick doesn't work!! So in one last ditch effort, I mentioned having some cramps. Which is the truth, so I thought ultrasound here I come! Actually it was down with the pants I go. Instead of an ultrasound I got a vaginal exam! I told my doctor "Oh we really don't need to do that." And her response was "you complained, so off with your clothes from the waist down." The moral of this story is: don't complain to your doctor and if you do prepare to be violated! Emma thought it was funny.

And this is one of the many reasons that healthcare costs are outrageous. "The things you will do to see that sweet face..." cost the American Taxpayers billions and billions of dollars each year for un-needed exams. Now, in answer to that, the government is looking to make it mandatory for all imaging exams (including that precious ultrasound you want just to see your baby) to be first approved by an overseer before Medicaid/Medicare will approve payment. This will succeed in delaying care to millions of Americans. After your little precious is born and you have to wait 2-3 days to get approval for a diagnostic exam to find out why he/she is hurting, I hope you will reflect on the "load up on sugar so they can't find the heartbeat...then you'll get an ultrasound" and remember that your selfishness contributed to the delay.

Well, Mr big shot disgruntled taxpayer can run his mouth but not show us who he his (click on his name and see what happens). So what, do you just surf the net and randomly force your opinion down people's throats? If you want to whine about someone who has insurance and is not a burden on your taxes, why don't you come hang out with me in the hospital where all the real medicare "taxpayer drains" take up residence and then you can jump on your soap box. I agree with that. But don't be picking on someone you don't know, who may or may not have insurance and is excited about the miracle of life. And then be too chicken to show us who you really are....
